Story:

I have always been fascinated by the Pueblos of Northern New Mexico. After spending time there, I created this piece; blending Pueblo architecture with hieroglyphic motifs from the region. At the forefront is a mountain-like anthill, honoring the unique red ants of the area. Unlike ants elsewhere, these beings aren’t invasive; instead, they move in harmony with the land, retreating indoors to warn of unsafe conditions. To me, they embody a subtle power, guardianship, and synchronicity with nature. This artwork is my homage to both Pueblo legacy and the humble yet remarkable ants of the desert.
