This canyon scene was drawn in remembrance of a journey to Gallup while living on the Navajo reservation for nearly six months. The desert’s cliffs and rivers carry both beauty and hardship; etched into the land and memory. For me, it became a personal marker of that chapter: the stark warmth of the desert, the flow of water through stone, and the quiet lessons of survival and spirit.
